But the first thing to know is, what are they and how do electronic tolls work? They are highways, instead of having toll booths, they have gantries with cameras and devices that read the license plates of the cars that circulate on them.
These gantries detect whether the passing vehicle has a VIA-T device to charge the toll. If not, it registers the license plate number of the vehicle in order to charge the payment to the driver by any of the established systems.
This is a solution created for automatic payment of freeway tolls, intended mainly for tourists and migrants. The system consists of the association of a bank card to our license plate, so that the cost of tolls will be charged on the associated card.
